Edible Spotlight: Edible Art

This broccoli is so striking they named it 'Artwork'—and it lives up to the name. New to home gardeners, 'Artwork' just keeps on giving: after you harvest the main crown, side shoots keep coming for an extended harvest. But looks aren't everything; one bite and you'll understand why this variety used to be reserved for gourmet markets and upscale restaurant kitchens. It's genuinely delicious—the kind of broccoli that makes you look forward to eating your vegetables.

To grow: Give it full sun. Plants grow upright, over 24 inches tall—no staking needed. Space them 8 inches apart. You can expect 10 to 20 heads per plant. Cut the main crown first, and your first eating harvest will be ready in about 10 days after that.
